BLACK LIVES MATTER
A theater founded to combat gender injustice cannot ignore human injustice. As the world faces unprecedented times during this global pandemic, incidents of hate and domestic terrorism continue to brutalize Black and Brown people across the globe. The Strand Theater Company stands in solidarity with our beloved Baltimore community as we seek justice for Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and all people oppressed by systems of racism. We continue to remain committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion in our company. We stand with our community in our efforts to learn more and do more to impact social change.

#STOPAAPIHATE
The recent deadly attacks in Atlanta were not an isolated attack against Asian-Americans. Although the motive for this incident is still under investigation, attacks against the AAPI community have faced a steady increase since the start of the Pandemic, and we must confront the reality that these incidents are the manifestation of generations of anti-Asian prejudice, violence, and fetishization often left unacknowledged.
Strand Theater Company stands in solidarity with the Asian American Pacific Islander community, and unequivocally condemn these acts of violence rooted in white supremacy.
We continue to be committed to our mission of creating space within the Arts for those in marginalized communities. We stand with our local community in our efforts to learn, grow, and educate ourselves on how to dismantle the systemic racism that permeates our country.
