2012-2013 Internship Program
The Strand Theatre is launching its inaugural internship program for the 2012-2013 season. The program aims to provide interns with valuable mentorship and training, bridging the gap between academic education and practice. Interns will gain insight, knowledge
and hands-on experience in all aspects of the theater. This is a unique opportunity for individuals to gain practical experience in one of
Baltimore’s Top 5 Theatres (Baltimore magazine, August 2011).
Requirements
Interns must commit to an entire season at the Strand (early-September to mid June). Specific hours will be determined by the Strand
staff and the intern upon acceptance into the program. Interns should be enrolled in a Maryland College or University during the internship period. Internships are not opened to high school students.
Academic Credit
This is a non-paid internship. Students can receive academic credit. The Strand will work with the intern to meet his or her school’s credit requirements.
Evaluation
Interns are evaluated at the end of their fall semester (December) and again at the end of the internship.
How Do I Participate?
Apply now! Complete the internship application and send all requested documents by September 7, 2012. No applications will be accepted after the deadline. A personal interview is required as part of the application process.
