Do you know your Fresnel from your output jack? We want you!

The Strand Theater Company seeks a highly dedicated, volunteer Technical Director to oversee the design and technical functions of the Strand’s artistic programming, as well as the physical plant. The Strand’s mission is dedicated to championing challenging and provocative theater that especially celebrates women’s diverse voices and perspectives while bringing together the creative talents of both women and men as artists, technicians, and administrators. We invite patrons to experience some of the region’s best contemporary and reinterpreted works for the stage in our intimate midtown theater in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Strand operates a 50-seat, flexible-configuration, black box theater out of a converted row home in the Station North Arts & Entertainment District. Now in its fourth season and with an annual budget of $30,000, the Strand receives annual support from the Maryland State Arts Council. The Strand offers a 5-play subscription season, complimented by occasional readings and workshops. In addition, numerous artists and companies rent the venue. Currently the Strand is under the leadership of Artistic Director Rain Pryor and Managing Director Elena Kostakis. The board of directors of the Strand currently has eight voting members. It is our hope and expectation that this position will include a modest monthly stipend effective with the enactment of the 2012–13 season budget.
